Manila, Philippines - The National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC), Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), Local Government Units of the Province of Isabela and Uanjelle Land, Inc. (Uanjelle) partnered for the development and take-out of three (3) housing projects in the Municipalities of Gamu, Jones and San Mateo in the Province of Isabela. This is in support of the Philippine government’s flagship National Housing for Filipinos Program (locally, the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program or 4PH). More than 20,000 housing units will be constructed to benefit low-income families from this region. This initiative underscores the Philippines' forward-thinking approach to housing
development, combining governmental support with private sectors’ expertise to achieve zero informal settlers by 2028.
NHMFC President Renato L. Tobias said that the construction of these housing projects reinforces the corporation’s commitment and strong support to the government’s efforts of providing safe and decent shelter for the informal settlers. “The role of National Home Mortgage is crucial in ensuring the accomplishment of this very challenging vision. We are mandated to ensure liquidity in the housing market, and that funds for housing projects are readily available for our housing originators,” President Tobias said.
During the groundbreaking and construction kick-off, Atty. Joshua Emmanuel Cariño remarked that “National Home Mortgage ensures that financing will not be a hindrance to the success of our housing projects,”He added that National Home Mortgage hopes that developers would be encouraged to participate in the 4PH Program since NHMFC ensures liquidity of funding for housing projects.
4PH is a flagship housing initiative of the Philippine government aimed at addressing the country's housing backlog and improving the living conditions of informal settlers and low-income families.
As a key player in ensuring financial support and market liquidity for housing development, NHMFC is dedicated to realizing the government's vision of providing every Filipino family with safe, affordable, and resilient homes. National Home Mortgage continues to work tirelessly alongside public and private partners to achieve a future where every Filipino can have a home they can call their own.
